The latest buzz in the Second Life virtual universe is Mesh Support and Second Life already started with their Mesh Import Open Beta but the real news here is that OSgrid has also started playing with Mesh Import. The Dwell On It blog reported that the Danger Grid part of OSgrid has it up and working within 24 hours of the new Second Life Mesh Beta viewer.

[youtube FbxVTibqGEs 540]
(YouTube Video Credit: ArminWeatherwax)

The video above is kinda dark and the objects are kinda hard to see too but those were supposed to be created via Mesh Import using the new Second Life Mesh Beta viewer. I’m trying to login to Danger Grid using Second Life Mesh Beta viewer so I can see it for myself but I think there is something wrong with the LOGINURI.

Anyway, below are screenshots of the whole Mesh things in Flickr. Image credit goes to jjacek. The photos or screenshots are much brighter than those seen in the YouTube video.

Also, OSgrid is re-tweeting images of Mesh Imports taken at Danger Grid. Please follow OSgrid’s Twitter Account (http://twitter.com/osgrid) to see the updates.

I guess with Mesh Imports, ordinary users like us will be able to enjoy more amazing creations from various talented and skillful creators both in the Second Life grid and in the many OpenSim grids.
