The fall out of the Emerald Viewer gave birth to other Third Party Viewers and one of this is the Ascent Viewer. Unlike the Phoenix Viewer which is a fork of the Emerald Viewer, the Ascent Viewer is a fork of the Inertia Viewer which is a viewer that has griefing and copybot features. These features are no longer present or available in the Ascent Viewer. Also, the Ascent Viewer complies with Linden Lab’s Third Party Viewer Policy and it is listed in Second Life’s Third Party Viewer Directory.
The Ascent Viewer was developed to give expanded control to content creators, developers and estate managers with features adopted from other popular third party viewers. It is being developed mainly by two Second Life residents, Hg Beeks and Charley Levenque with Belaya Statosky in charge of the official Ascent Viewer Mac Build.
